Blue Blood "Last Call" Imperial Amber

Picked up a four-pack of this today. Poured with a crazily high towering head over a coppery amber brew. A little bit of a buzz from the alcohol (8% ABV); sweet, caramelly taste, with overtones of citrus, especially grapefruit. Very drinkable.

Modern Monks Dublin Size Irish Red Ale

Pours a dark copper with a two-finger head. Well-hopped (even though they're not advertising as such) with a sweet, malty finish. Subtle caramel, a little bit of toasted malt, with not a lit of other corollary tastes but very smooth and drinkable.

Hofbräu Maibock

Hofbräu Maibock pours the color of a new penny, with a flimsy white head. Tasted a little skunky at first, but that faded as it warmed up. Medium hoppiness, a little oily mouthfeel. Some toasted breadiness as well as some caramel. Not bad, but I've had better from Hofbräu.

India Pale Ale (from Nebraska Brewing)

Pours a golden amber with a three-finger fluffy white head, strong hoppy aromas right off the bat. Nice combination of graprefruity and piney hops. Some peach and apricot as well. The hops are very evident, but they're not beating you over the head...or tongue. I'm not going to ruin the experience with excess verbiage...so just drink a can!

Brunette Nut Brown Ale (from Nebraska Brewing)

Number three of four cans of Nebraska Brewing offerings. Poured a medium brown with a two finger beige head. Aromas of caramel and pumpernickel. Very low hoppiness, with a sweet finish. As the name suggests, some nuttiness, but not overwhelming. Good representation of the style, drinkable and refreshing.

Eos Hefeweizen (from Nebraska Brewing)

Beer #2 of the four Nebraska Brewing cans that I picked up the other day. This one is a hefeweizen, a German style that indicates at least 50% of the grain that went into the malt is wheat. Pouring a lemonade yellow, with straggly white head, the aroma reminded me of a good Saison. Obviously wheaty, with some suggestions of Belgian-style yeast. Banana, clove and a little bubble gum round out the flavor profile. Thank you, I believe I'll have another.
